The Best Packers From The 1970s
In the wonderful time of the 1970s people were listening to Led Zeppelin and had the privilege of watching some of the most celebrated NFL players live in stadiums. The league is arguably better now, with many more people watching it every weekend and some even exploring NFL betting lines as a way to find even more thrilling enjoyment from the sport.
Today, let’s take a walk down memory lane and examine some of the most famous players who wore the coveted Packers jersey. Here are some of the best players from the 1970s.
Bart Starr
Bryan Bartlett Starr had a wildly successful career as an NFL quarterback during his time on Green Bay Packers team which began in 1956 and lasted all the way to 1971. In the 17th round of the 1956 NFL Draft, Starr was selected by the Packers and he continued to play with them for an incredible 16 seasons. Starr is still celebrated today for his time playing with the Packers and for the way he helped his fellow teammates take home two Super Bowl victories and five NFL Championships while he was with them.
His incredible ability to perform under pressure, natural leadership skills and general accuracy all contributed to his success and fame at the time. For his dedication to his team and ongoing efforts, Starr was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977, solidifying his status as one of the most talented quarterbacks in NFL history. His lasting legacy as a talented player, impact on the Packers team and his contributions to the game as a whole will always be remembered.
John Brockington
The legendary John Stanley Brockington was born and raised in Brooklyn and is still highly regarded today for his incredibly successful career as a lightning fast running back for both the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs during the 1970s. After being selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 1971 NFL Draft, his powerful ability to run and spectacular ability to break tackles caused him to quickly make an impact for his team and the game.
Brockington is remembered for running over 1,000 yards to become the first player in NFL history to accomplish this incredible display, all in his first season with the Packers. His skill as a running back earned him Pro Bowl selections from 1971 to 1973 and he was highly regarded as a consistent performer throughout the duration of his career.
After being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1977, injuries greatly impacted his time playing and he retired from the game soon after the 1978 season. In 1984, John was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame and he ended his spectacular NFL career with 32 touchdowns and over 5,000 rushing yards. Even though he has a relatively short NFL career compared to other legendary players, John Brockington managed to have a lasting impact on the game as a whole.
Chester Marcol
This kicking wizard on the green field is known by fans and enthusiasts of the sport for his exciting career and overall impact as a professional American football player. Czesław Bolesław “Chester” Marcol was born in Poland but quickly developed a deep enthusiasm for football after moving to the United States at the young age of 16. He quickly excelled as an exceptional kicker while playing college football at Hillsdale College in Michigan.
After being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the NFL Draft in 1972, Marcol quickly became known across the country for his impressive leg strength and impeccable accuracy. His consistent ability to make long field goals and score extra points for his team worked wonders for his fame and recognition. After his time with the NFL, he battled with substance abuse and faced legal issues but managed to recover from past and now assists others who struggle with similar issues in his retirement.

Highlights + Updates!
Hello! It's been such a long time since I've posted because I am. Bad at social media :-). Either way, it is currently Rock the Clock, and there's some down time so I'll give you a highlight reel of what the rest of last term was like from episode 52-57.
Episode 52: Tokophobia - Tying back to the previous episode, we took the time to discuss the fear of pregnancy and giving birth.

Episode 53: The Unification Church - This episode connects back to the beginning of the school year, where we had previously discussed Shinzo Abe's death and his ties to the Unification Church. A brief unpacking of the political/religious organization.

Episode 54: Midwestern Mormonism - Keeping to the topic of religion, I wanted to make sure we did an episode about Mormonism in between The Brobecks and IDKHOW episodes, lol. This episode is more specifically about how some Mormons are starting to move back to the midwest.

Episode 55: Organ Donation - A more fundamental-style episode, Jeffrey and I talked about how Americans can sign up to have their organs donated as well as being sure to make your wishes known to your family, friends, or both. Communication is key! A few weeks after this episode came the fed's big investigation into UNOS, which is quite unfortunate timing on our end, but hopefully there can be more equity in our donation process moving forward.

Episode 56: The Long History of Fanfiction - This is Jeffrey's solo episode for the term! I hope tumblr can take to this one as well :-).
Sources - Waiting on Jeffrey, will amend this post ASAP!
Episode 57: IDKHOW and Reincarnation... - I know this one could probably use its own post, especially because it seems to be the most relevant to tumblr's interest, but it would be unfair to separate my solo work out again I think you know? This episode starts off where I ended The Brobecks episode from last term. It was recorded JUST BEFORE some of the recent drama, there was very little evidence at the time I had presented this. Oh how cruel time can be...

Ramayana Epic: Know Your Ramayana
🚩🚩जय श्री राम🚩🚩
#RamayanaEpic

KDNFB Reads # 4/12... and also #5/12
Life got away from me, and it’s not looking like there will be any significant changes any time soon. So I’ll poke my head in every few weeks or so, to answer asks and messages, etc. and well, these posts don’t take much effort, just recording what I’ve already done, so I’ll try to keep up with them. But yeah... fandom time is at a premium here. Here’s what I’ve read since April 18th until today, May 31st, 2021. Hence why I’m calling this post 4 & 5. As before, anything marked with an * is something I’ve read before and chose to reread either just because I wanted to, or because it’s part of a series and a new volume was recently released. 😘
